Hume Castle was built sometime
in the 13th Century and was the seat of the Hume family. King James II
stayed here on his way to besiege Roxburgh Castle. The Castle was
destroyed by Cromwell in 1651. The Present remains were built around 1794
by the Earl of Marchmont. To find out more click
