Hume Castle

 

Hume Castle was built sometime in the 13th Century and was the seat of the Hume family.  King James II stayed here on his way to besiege Roxburgh Castle.  The Castle was destroyed by Cromwell in 1651.  The Present remains were built around 1794 by the Earl of Marchmont.  To find out more click here.

1st April - 31st October: Open daylight hours

Winter months key available from large house opposite castle.
