Kelso Abbey, in the Scottish
Borders is a beautiful ruin of a once proud Abbey. Here is a brief history
of the place and if you want a more in-depth history then click
here.
Kelso Abbey was
built in 1128 by King David I and was later dedicated to the Blessed Virgin and
St John. The Abbey was attacked many times during it's history due to it's
close proximity to the border with England and by the year 1550 the Abbey had
been reduced to not much more than rubble.
