Neidpath Castle was was built sometime in the 14th century and was later converted to the present day tower house during the 17th century. It is believed the original Castle was built for The Sheriff of Peebles, a Hay and passed into the hands of the Douglas family in 1686. In 1810 the castle passed to the Earl of Wemyss and remains in the possession of that family to this day. To find out more click here.
