Smailholm Tower

Smailholm Tower, Not far outside the Border town of Kelso, was once the home of the Pringle family until about 1645 when it became the home of the Scotts of Harden,  Like most Border keeps and towers it was regularly attacked by the English.  Smailholm Tower passed into the care of the State in 1980 and in now cared for by Historic Scotland.  More details of this picturesque tower can be found here.
